Why is it Different?

The Company's technology is unique in that it exploits the electromagnetic properties of solid state plasmas to produce very low cost microwave devices, using well-established silicon integrated circuit manufacturing techniques. Conventionally, microwave and millimetre wave devices have been produced using relatively expensive semiconductor materials and processes (eg Gallium Arsenide is 20,000 times more expensive than Silicon), which has tended to restrict their use to specialist areas (eg satellite links, military radars and landing systems). The significant cost saving of the PAL antenna will allow mass market applications to be addressed, such as wide-band multimedia, wireless local area networks, medical and automotive applications.

Unlike other antenna technologies (e.g phased arrays) the production costs do not increase with frequency.
