Mesh Networks

Plasma Antennas is developing a steerable antenna for a mesh network operating at a number of frequencies from 24 to 40 GHz. It will be a compact low cost design suitable for mass production. It will have a 360 degree field of view in the azimuth plane, and will switch between any two directions in this plane during the time slot between data packets. The elevation beam will be narrow and fixed, though a steerable beam could be provided in this plane at an increased cost. An omnidirectional azimth capablility is also available. The initial prototype is scheduled for the end of 2003.

The Company is also developing a steerable antenna for a mesh network operating in the unlicenced 5.725 to 5.875 GHz band.
